Its main job is to condense and separate oil vapours which would otherwise enter the intake system and combustion chamber, causing carbon build-up on intake components (including the throttle body and intake manifold). Accumulated deposits can lead to a loss of engine power.<\/p>\n<p>The separator is fitted with a dipstick for checking the level of collected oil, and a drain valve at the bottom of the tank for quick emptying.
