BMW E39 M54 – oil pan gasket replacement and system cleaning
The car came in for an oil pan gasket replacement. The old gasket had lost its properties due to age.
After removal it turned out the pan contained leftovers from previous mechanics. The oil pick-up was also checked, and a few 'artefacts' were found there too.
The oil pan, engine block and surrounding area were cleaned of oil residue, and after a light detailing the pan got a new lease of life.
